Accreditation
At South Gippsland Hospital our priority is to provide a high quality of service in all areas of the organisation; and we are proud of the levels to which this is continually achieved. It is due not only to our person-centred model of service delivery, which focuses on ensuring patient needs drive the quality of care we offer, but is also owing to the excellence and commitment from the many dedicated staff employed at our hospital.
We strive for continuous improvement and methodically monitor, evaluate and revise our quality measures and activities by means of scheduled internal auditing, feedback from patients, carers and staff, and incident management. Outcomes are reported formally:
- on a monthly basis to the Executive Management Committee;
- to the Board of Management quarterly via the Clinical Governance and Quality Committee;
- to staff via a monthly Quality Management Report and team meetings; and
- to the community via our annual general meeting, quarterly aged care newsletters and public facing notice boards at SGH
We are grateful to have consumers on various Committees, who provide a valued perspective when reviewing and planning our services. In early 2025, SGH was fully accredited for three years against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and we were successfully assessed against the Aged Care Quality Standards in April 2024.
