South Coast Prevention

The South Coast Prevention Team is a result of a strong commitment by two of the Bayside Health Gippsland Care Group (formerly Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) and South Gippsland Hospital to work collectively across the sub-region with pooled health promotion resources.

This model has provided clearer policy direction and better alignment of prevention work across the sub-region of Bass Coast and South Gippsland (the South Coast) since it began in 2019.

The South Coast Prevention Team take a place-based, population wide approach to primary prevention that recognises that people and places are inter-related and that places where people spend their time play an important role in shaping their health and wellbeing.

Our team works across the region to strengthen prevention, early detection and population health outcomes.
