What we do

The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (Breast) is a specialised, registered nurse who acts as a patient advocate and provides important care for anyone experiencing breast cancer, including their families and carers. The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse provides physical, psychological and emotional support from diagnosis and throughout treatment, including early and metastatic breast cancer.

Who can use our service?

Anyone experiencing breast cancer, including family members and carers seeking support.

How you access

Self-referrals are welcome, or clients may be referred by their GP or other health professional.

The service is provided in the South Gippsland Hospital Community Health Centre. Home visits can be arranged within South Gippsland if required.

This service is provided free of charge.

  • Medicare card
  • Health Care Card and / or concession card (if you have one)
  • Previous X-ray films, scans, ultrasounds or any other test results or reports
