Visiting hours and guidelines

South Gippsland Hospital requests all staff, volunteers, visitors and patients to take an active role in preventing the spread of infection.

Hand hygiene is the single most important factor in reducing the spread of infections. Staff, volunteers and visitors are requested to wash their hands before and after patient contact.

Pink hand cleansers are located outside each room and at entrances/exits. Alternatively wash basins are located along the main corridor and in the toilets.

For the safety of current hospital patients, family and friends with a cold/flu or gastroenteritis symptoms (vomiting or diarrhoea) are asked not to visit until they are well.
