Initially set up for the sole purpose of the South Gippsland Hospital the Foundation now has a broader view and funds public health projects in the South Gippsland area.
It receives funds from bequests, donations, and fundraising efforts.
The Foundation distributes funding to the SGH annually towards various projects.
In the last five years, the Foundation has contributed $274,000 to help the South Gippsland Hospital purchase the Banksia Centre, $175,000 and to fit out three new rooms at Prom Coast Aged Care, plus over $100,000 to the Hospital for purchase of medical equipment.
