Community Generosity Enhances Patient Care at SGH

South Gippsland Hospital is proud to acknowledge the generosity of the SGH Auxiliary, whose recent donation of an oxygen concentrator is already making a meaningful difference to patient care.

The concentrator provides patients with a continuous supply of oxygen, supporting those whose lungs are unable to get enough oxygen on their own. This is particularly important for patients transitioning from hospital to home, helping reduce shortness of breath, improve energy, and support a safer, more confident recovery.

Director of Nursing and Chief Midwife Kylie Osborne thanked the Auxiliary for their ongoing commitment to the community.

“The SGH Auxiliary continues to make a real difference for our patients. This donation supports people to return home sooner, with the confidence and reassurance that their oxygen needs will be safely met,” she said.

“It saves worrying about running out of oxygen,” Mr Dunstone said. “It makes it easy to adjust the oxygen intake and it’s easier to get around.”

The concentrator allows patients greater independence by removing the need for oxygen cylinders and supporting mobility at home.

South Gippsland Hospital sincerely thanks the SGH Auxiliary for their continued generosity and dedication to improving patient care across the local community.
