What we do
Positive Ageing Service (PAS) is a private, confidential service for older people to improve their quality of life in a safe and supportive environment. The PAS can:
Help you to improve your health and wellbeing through exercise, diet, social connections;
Assist you to deal with grief, loss or loneliness;
Help you to navigate health and/or community services; or
Assist you with managing digital technology.
Participants will:
- Meet with the Positive Ageing Advocate regularly for up to six months
- Be offered assistance to work out their needs and achieve their own goals
- Be invited to connect with services which may be of benefit
- Be able to be referred to health professionals to meet your health needs.
The PAS team also includes a Dietitian, an Exercise Physiologist and a Social Worker.
The service is provided at the South Gippsland Hospital Community Health Centre.
How you access
Family or self-referrals are welcome, or clients may be referred by their GP or other health professional.

Who can use our service?
Anyone aged 65 years or over can participate in the PAS.
Are there any fees?
This service is free of charge.
If a referral to a service other than dietetics, exercise physiology or social work is required, there may be a small charge.

What to bring
- Medicare card
- Health Care Card and/or concession card (if you have one)
- Previous test results or reports
- Medicines you need to take while you are here
- Glasses, hearing aid(s) and/or walking frame if needed
