Incontinence is the involuntary loss of urine from the bladder or contents from the bowel.
A regional Continence Nurse Advisor that deals with incontinence issues visits the Community Health Centre once a month or can sometimes arrange home visits.
Services provided include:
- information and guidance
- management and advice (eg. access to funding and equipment)
- practical support
- education to the incontinent person, caregivers, health professionals and the community
